ASFP Association for Specialist Fire Protection
Formed in 1975, the ASFP is the trade association that represents the interests of the UK’s manufacturers and installers of fire protections systems for steel, concrete, ductwork, dampers, penetration seals and fire stopping. These systems are usually referred to as passive fire protection products.
The ASFP works with Government and standard setting bodies both directly and via other sector group associations to increase the quality of the installed fire protection of the UK’s buildings and industrial plants including onshore as well as offshore facilities.

BRE: Loss Prevention Certification Board
We are members of BRE: Loss Prevention Certification Board under LPS 1531 for companies installing or applying passive fire protection products. Obtaining and maintaining this accreditation comes at a significant cost, however it provides peace of mind to the client that the vital aspect of fire protection has been completed to the required standard and due to the bi-annual audits we can ensure our training levels are consistently high and duly act should any training requirements be noted. Upon completion and inspection of the works, we can issue a ‘Certificate of Conformity’ to warrant our works, which is recommended in the Building Regulations ‘Approved Document Part B’.

Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS)
The CHAS scheme is highly regarded with Health and Safety in mind and is recognised by all Main Building Contractors, Local Authorities & H.M Prison Services nationwide. It provides an assurance that we take H&S in the workplace seriously and that our paperwork (Method Statement, Risk Assessments, Coshh Assessments, safety audits) and working practices are to a satisfactory standard.

CQMS Limited has been a Registered Member of the Safety Schemes in Procurement Forum (SSIP) for over 5 years and is dedicated to promoting higher health and safety standards within industry. Accreditation with CQMS Safety-Scheme ensures companies are assessed in accordance with the SSIP Core Criteria, an industry recognised standard, demonstrating compliance with UK health and safety standards

FIRAS
We are registered with FIRAS, a certification which began in 1994 and has lead the way in improving standards of installation of fire protection products and systems to the benefit of the construction industry. As a member of the FIRAS register we have gained approval for fire protection board and penetrating seal systems.

The Fire Service College
As part of our ongoing investment in staff education for fire protection systems and hazardous materials, key representatives are regular delegates to the Fire Service College (Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucs). Our delegates are able to return immediately able to apply their learnt skills and knowledge to the benefit of our clients and themselves.
The Greenlight Safety Assessment Scheme
The Green Light Safety Assessment Scheme has been approved by Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP). This accreditation ensures we are compliant with current legislation and best practice in accordance with Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 – Guidance 8. Further reducing the likelihood of accidents/incidents or near misses through association with organisations that are competent and aware of their responsibilities’

R Lewis are the first Jotun certified coating applicator for their Steelmaster 1200HPE products. This high performance epoxy passive fire, weather and impact protection system has been fire tested by Warrington under their Certifire certification scheme.

Loss Prevention Certificate Board
The Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) is the leading international Certification Body in the fields of security and fire protection. LPCB approval is recognised by governments and regulatory authorities across the world. The LPCB approval process involves assessment and testing of products to ensure that they meet quality standards set by a team of experts who may be regulators, insurers, designers, manufacturers, installers, engineers and scientists. Approval of products is usually based on testing undertaken by our world-renowned testing laboratories. This approval is maintained by regular audits to ensure that the product continues to meet the approval criteria.
