Sheltered Retirement Home – Fire Door Protection Compliance

In accordance with the current building regulation recommendations and as part of the property maintenance teams on going duty of care regime; we were asked by BNS Property Management of Bristol to provide a building survey and assessment to this three storey sheltered retirement home in Gloucestershire. On completion of the building survey report and working in-conjunction with our client BNS and the Fire Authority we were requested to commence with servicing the supply and installation of new fire doors and suitable fire stopping solutions. Working to the residents and property managements design specifications, we were able to provide and install compliant fire doors with suitable closing devices taking into account both the doors frequent users and the clients aesthetic requirements.

FD30 fire doors were fitted on each level with these compartments completed with appropriate zonal fire stopping installations. All work was carried out during normal hours without disturbing the buildings occupants and within the customers programme of works. As part of our on-going commitment to providing the service that our clients expect of R. Lewis we have recently returned to site with our auditor to ensure that the doors are independently confirmed as compliant and that the site team and residents were completely satisfied with their new door constructions’
