We undertook an extensive fire protection project on the Frenchay Campus at the University of West England in 2019, which truly showcased our full range of services, many of which we feel are unique to R. Lewis & Co (UK) Ltd.
This was a truly diverse project, involving the whole company and showcasing the full extent of our in-house skills, from design to installation. In addition, during the project we were inspected and awarded LPCB 1531 status with the BRE.
We felt our team deserved recognition for all their hard work and so decided to enter the project into the Best Installation Project category at the 2019 Passive Fire Protection Industry Awards.
Our fire protection responsibilities on the project included:
- Fire Strategy Design
- Fire & Smoke (CFD) Modelling
- Evacuation Modelling
- Fire Door Inspection
- Compartmentation Survey
- Principle Contractor
- Fire Stopping works
- Fire Door Installation and Maintenance
- Offsite Coatings
- Onsite Coatings
Unfortunately, we did not win, but feel very proud to have got through to the nominations round.
