Our Waking Watch service has been set up in line with the NFCC Guidance to provide additional temporary fire safety for residents in high-rise developments.

Working alongside building owners, managers and stakeholders, we will design, implement and support a Waking Watch strategy, which includes a staff being designated to patrol your building and look out for signs of fire.

Their primary role will be to:

  • Summon the fire service should there be a fire detected
  • Detect signs of fire within the building
  • Detect signs of fire on or within the external façade
  • Ensure all residents are alerted and begin simultaneous evacuation
  • Be on hand to liaise with the fire and rescue service if required

We are able to set up fully functioning welfare/command centre at all times. The Waking Watch will liaise with the staff member in charge and will also be the fire and rescue service liaison for the waking watch. Our Waking Watch operatives will also send reactive reports should there be any changes or new hazards arising during their watch.

Waking Watch staff will have access to the common fire alarm system proposed within their welfare/command centre that will give them notice of any internal fire. The Waking Watch team will be equipped with appropriate loud hailer, torch and PPE for all weathers.

Please get in touch if you would like to talk to one of our team about increasing fire safety within your high-rise building with Waking Watch.
